The Dinner will be held in historic Reform Club Library, one of the most beautiful rooms in London. All paid up members of The Media Society are invited and we would be delighted if you bring a guest.
Gary Younge is an award-winning journalist best known for his remarkable reporting on America. For many years he was a Guardian correspondent in the USA and in 2009 he won the James Cameron award for "the combined moral vision and professional integrity" of his coverage of the Obama campaign.
As Guardian Editor at Large, he still spends a lot of time in the United States and his writing about American politics, inner city tensions and the lives of ordinary Americans is gripping. He also writes a regular column for the American magazine, The Nation.
Gary is author of several books including No Place Like Home - A Black Briton's Journey Through the American South ; Stranger in a Strange Land: Encounters in the Disunited States; The Speech: The Story Behind Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s Dream and Another Day in the Death of America – which he read on Radio 4 as The Book of the Week
