Richard Lindley sadly died in November. He was an outstanding television reporter for ITN and BBC’s Panorama; the first western television journalist to interview Saddam Hussein; a former President of the Media Society and a much loved media figure.

Leading journalists will be paying tribute to Richard, looking back at his work and discussing the challenges facing television reporters today.

Security Arrangements on arrival
You should go to the main door at the front of the historic old BBC Broadcasting House building in Portland Place. It is important that each ticket holder is named, so that individual security passes can be issued. You will need to bring your ticket and photo-id in order to pass through security on arrival at BBC Broadcasting House. Please note that in order for security badges to be issued on arrival, all booking details for attendees will be disclosed to the BBC. Personal details on the booking form have been kept to a minimum to require the name of each attendee and a contact e-mail address. In addition a mobile phone number and an office phone number (if any) have been asked for in the event of any query arising or the need to contact an attendee urgently. All attendees have to go through security, have their bags checked and be issued with a BBC identity lanyard before they can leave reception. You will be escorted up to the Council Chamber.Please arrive in time to complete this procedure.Strictly no admittance after 7 p.m.

Ticket Refund Policy:

  • Ticket refunds are only, available if The Media Society is able to re-sell the tickets. Refunds will also be given if the event is cancelled. If the venue is moved, the date is changed, the topic is changed or the speakers are changed after you have purchased your tickets and the replacement venue, date, topic or speakers are not to the satisfaction of those who originally acquired tickets, please use the refund request facility within Eventbrite or contact admin@themediasociety.com to request a full refund.
