Please support the work that the Media Society is doing by making a donation to the charity – either a one-off or an ongoing payment.
The Media Society charity was formed just over 50 years ago in 1972, by a group of British newspaper and TV editors – and, since then, we have been regulated by the Charity Commission.
Our mission is to provide an impartial and independent platform for the discussion of important and topical media issues.
With the newspaper, broadcasting, communications and digital industries going through a period of rapid change and fragmentation, and with journalists and journalism under threat around the world, we think we play an absolutely crucial role in these troubled media times.
As well as events, we produce podcasts, newsletters and run a mentoring scheme.
But we want to expand the activities of the Society – to reach more people, produce more content, and organise more events.
We get a steady income flow from our membership and events. But it’s not enough, and we are currently just about breaking even.
To grow, we need funds – to book more venues, to fund more prominent marketing, to pay for access to platforms, and to help run the support we aim to give through our mentoring scheme.
