Elections for President

We are pleased to announce that Nigel Dacre is to be the next President of The Media Society. He was elected at the Society’s Annual General Meeting, and chaired his first full Council meeting on Wednesday 4th December 2024.

Nigel is a media executive, writer and journalist, with over 45 years of experience in the media industry. He is a former Editor of ITV News, and since leaving ITN has been CEO, MD or Chair of five media organisations. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Television Society.

Nigel Dacre says: “It’s a great honour to be elected as President. I think that the Media Society has enormous potential, and we have ambitious plans to grow and develop the organisation in the coming year. I also think that the Society has a crucial role to play in facilitating debate and discussion on topical media issues – and this is needed now more than ever before, as we go through a period of such rapid change in the media industry.”

The Media Society Vice Presidents are Dominic Cameron, Charlotte Henry, Susan Morton, and Alex Sinker.
