Matt Frei to give the 2025 RTS and The Media Society Steve Hewlett Lecture

Matt Frei, Channel 4’s Presenter and Europe Editor, will deliver this year’s Steve Hewlett Memorial Lecture, titled ‘Who gets to tell the story? A world at war over competing narratives’.

Matt Frei is one of the most recognisable faces on British television. He has presented and reported for Channel 4 News since 2011. Before that he was a foreign correspondent for BBC News.

The lecture is co-sponsored by the Royal Television Society and the Media Society. Tickets are available through the RTS website. There will be a reception after the lecture in the Portland Hall. Proceeds of the lecture will go to the Steve Hewlett Scholarship Fund, which is chaired by Sir Clive Jones, and managed by him, Steve’s widow, Rachel Crellin and John Mair.

The fund was set up on the death of Steve in 2017 and to date six Hewlett scholars have been helped through media/journalism courses.
